Overview
Working buildings, not catalog buildings
A barn and a workshop are the same steel frame with different priorities. A barn needs airflow, wide openings, and cover over equipment or hay. A workshop needs enclosure, leg height, door width, and often insulation and ventilation.
We start from the use, not from a size chart. Tell us what has to fit inside, how you get in and out, and whether the building has to stay comfortable to work in, and we spec width, length, leg height, gauge, bracing, and roof style around that.
Lean-tos are the most underrated upgrade in this category. Adding a covered side to a workshop is usually far cheaper per square foot than widening the main structure, and it keeps implements and lumber out of the weather.
Remember
Farm and shop buildings vary more between manufacturers than carports do, so comparing at least three quotes on the same specification is where the real savings shows up.
